Proven products, local ecosystems, climate-smart by design

We find the product a community is missing, design it to keep working through floods, drought and heat and to cut emissions, and build the local businesses, skills and finance that deliver it.

Good solutions fail when one piece is missing

Communities rarely lack interest. They lack a complete product and a local market that can deliver it. We learned this building household sanitation, and it holds for water, waste and beyond.

A lone concrete slab, sold as if it were a complete toilet A makeshift latrine built from plastic sheeting and sticks

What usually happens

  • Partial products. A slab without the rest of the toilet, or a design without a local supplier.
  • The family as its own contractor. Materials, transport and labour all arranged separately, so costs rise and work stalls.
  • Projects end, markets vanish. Molds, skills and suppliers scatter when the funding stops.
  • Built for yesterday's climate. Pits and tanks that flood, collapse in heavy rain or run dry, and release methane.

What we build instead

  • A complete, standard product that local artisans can produce and install reliably.
  • A local supply chain of producers, trained artisans and lenders, where each earns a fair margin.
  • Capacity that stays. The market keeps working after any single programme ends.
  • Designed for today's climate. Solutions that keep working through floods, drought and heat, with lower emissions.

What we do

Three things, always together, so a good design never stays a prototype.

Our approach

Four steps learned in the field: understand the real bottleneck, engineer the missing product for local conditions and a changing climate, grow the local supply around it, then scale carefully.

Diagnose

Field scoping with households, suppliers, lenders and government, including climate hazards, to find the missing product and the broken steps.

Design and prototype

Engineer for field realities and climate hazards, build prototypes, and test them with artisans and real users.

Build the ecosystem

Equip and train local enterprises and artisans, and connect demand with finance.

Roll out and monitor

Start small, then scale by region, with photo-based quality tracking at every site.

Who we work with

NGOs and donors

A technical partner that brings proven, climate-smart products and supply chains into your programmes.

Municipalities and utilities

Design, feasibility and climate risk assessments for decentralised wastewater and faecal sludge systems.

Local enterprises

Molds, production standards, training and a product that sells.

Private sector and investors

Commercially viable products with measurable social impact.

Don't reinvent the wheel. Build on what already works.
